Happy Pride Qutie’s!
This is an exciting time of the year, a time to come together, a time to be thankful and a time to celebrate. This month, Qutie celebrates Pride in New York City (our home state) and around the world! This time of year is meaningful as we commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969, a time when tensions were high between New York City police and LGBTQ residents. The police raided the Stonewall Inn gay nightclub and brave LGBTQ patrons fought back. These Riots were considered to be a catalyst for the LGBT liberation movement, which consisted of countering shame, bringing visibility to our community, and holding annual political marches in order to fight for equal rights.
We have made a lot of progress, and we must not forget all of the people who made sacrifices to help us get to where we are today. We know there is more to be done, however, we have come far as a community. We are optimistic that progress will continue.
This month, we celebrate love and human connections. This is what Qutie is all about, and we believe everyone deserves to love openly. The Qutie app is an online hub that allows people to meet from across the spectrum of LGBTQ sexual orientations and gender identities. We are proud to commemorate the meaning of Pride. You can find the Qutie team at NYC’s biggest and best World Pride Celebration on Sunday, June 30th! We will be giving away tons of free swag and selling our limited edition Qutie – “Love Who You Are” Hats. Find us at Pridefest and get your swag before it’s all gone. Thank you for being members of Qutie and a part of the LGBTQ community!
